The mission of Lakeside Presbyterian Church is to seek, with guidance from the Holy Spirit, to develop committed Disciples of Christ through a caring ministry, which nurtures spiritual growth and understanding of God’s purpose and love through worship, fellowship, celebration, giving, teaching, and learning; and which involves the congregation with others in our community and the world.
What to Expect
If you plan to visit LPC, you probably have some questions about what to expect; here are some of those most frequently asked. If your question isn’t answered, email or call the church and we’d be happy to help you!
What time is the service? Each Sunday we meet for a worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. During the summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day), the service starts at 10:00 a.m. From October through April we also worship on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (lower level of the church). A light supper is served at 5:30, prior to the Wednesday service.
Do you have childcare? Yes. The nursery (staffed by volunteers) is available during worship and for other church events. Preschool and kindergarten age children typically remain in worship with their parents for the first part of the service, after which they go downstairs to attend a church school class.
Is the church handicapped accessible? Yes. The lower level entrance (on 45th Street) offers easy access to the elevator. After entering through the double doors, turn right at the stairway and the elevator is on your right. Hearing amplifiers and large print bulletins are also available.
When is communion served and who can participate? We serve communion once a month. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ can take part. You don’t need to be a member of the church. Baptized children are welcome to take part as well, if the parents desire.
